Irish Twins

For as far back as I can remember my Birthday always begins with the same question, "How old are you Sherry?" I answer with my "new" age. The attention shifts to my sister and repeats. "And how old are you Lynda?" She responds with the same age as me, everyone laughs. For a long time I was irritated by this silliness till one day when I was sharing our family ritual with someone and to my surprise she said, really? So you're Irish Twins! (You see my sister and I are 10 1/2 months apart and share the same age for six weeks every year.) So now no matter where we are on my Birthday, when the question is asked (as it is asked every year), "Happy Birthday Sher! How old are You?" I respond with "The same age you are, we're Irish Twins!"
Update on Cindy: She is still in a coma and has been moved to a local Hospice. This past week has been very hard on her Husband and three children. I'm praying for Healing Rain.

  1. I love this post. Me and my younger brother are 11 months apart, and every year we call ourselves "twins for a month"!!! That's so funny, Irish Twins sounds a lot better than Polish Twins tho, so we'll just continue with "twins for a month".

Still praying for your friend :(
