Twelve Tags of Christmas

Day Two: Today at work (The Scrapbook Store) http://scrapbook-store.com the ladies were commenting about how complex each tag looked on the Tim Holtz blog,http://www.timholtz.typepad.com although some of the steps look involved, once you begin you'll see how easy Tim's techniques are. Remember, use what you have or if you really need some of the product and live near Greenfield, Wisconsin, stop by. Today we got in some of the Tim Holtz Die Cuts, Distress Crackle paint, embossing powder plus lots of fun trinkets to embellish your tags with!
Day Two tag is all about technique. As you can see I used a much smaller stamp but still kept it red. I didn't have the metal bird (we got them in at the store today) so I used a stamp and cut it out for the same effect. The fun part about this tag is making the custom stamp pad, once you create one you'll think of a million ways to use this technique! (I couldn't find the Cut and Dry felt, only the Cut and Dry Foam) so I used three layers of quilting batting (the flat felt type not the fluff in a bag.) The result was the same. Also don't worry if your stamped image doesn't look as dark as Tim's on the felt, you will still be able to see where to drizzle the distress ink. Note: I have used the Adirondack Alcohol Ink re-inkers in place of the Distress re-inkers with the same result!) Have Fun!
